2. Information We Collect

At LinkZip, we are committed to maintaining a minimal and transparent data collection policy. We only store information necessary for the proper functioning of the service:

  • Account Information: Your email address, verification status, and subscription tier preference to create and manage your account access.
  • Redirection Metadata: We store the original destination URL, the generated shortened slug, the creation timestamp, and password hashes for protect-enabled links.
  • Click Analytics: To provide you with statistics, we log general click events: total click counts, timestamp, visitor's country (approximate via IP), and device system/browser type. We do not track or store personally identifiable information of your visitors.

3. How We Use Information

We use your data solely for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the URL shortening capabilities of our platform.
  • To show you accurate performance metrics in your dashboard.
  • To ensure the safety of our infrastructure and prevent abuse (such as spam, malware, or malicious redirects).

4. Data Retention

Account information and redirection metadata are kept for as long as your account remains active, and are deleted when you delete your account or a specific link (see "Your Rights" below). Exact retention periods for each category of data — in particular how long click analytics logs are kept after collection — have not been set yet: retention schedule to be provided by the site operator.

5. Session Cookies

LinkZip uses cookies exclusively for user authentication. When you log into your panel, a secure session cookie (`session`) is set to identify you in subsequent requests. This cookie is strictly necessary for service operation and is never shared with third-party advertising networks.

6. Storage and Data Protection

All information is hosted on secure distributed databases within Cloudflare's global network (D1 Database and Cloudflare KV). We apply secure SHA-256 cryptographic hashing to store account passwords and protect-enabled links passwords, preventing unauthorized access.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of your account and all associated links at any time. You can manage these settings directly through your dashboard panel or by contacting our support team.

If you believe your data has not been handled properly, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
